Perennial plants

This is a list of perennial plants that provide a decent to high amount of nector and or pollen for bees and/or butterflies. Perennial plants are plants that return every year, often growing back from the roots.

 

Meaning of terms:

Light indicates the amount of sunlight a plant needs.

Moisture indicates the amount of moisture a plant needs, and the range it can grow in.

Bees/Butterflies Indicates if the plant provides food for bees or butterflies or both. 

Ornamental/Natural indicates if the plant is suitable for a more natural garden or more for an ornamental garden or both.

Native or not indicates if the plant is native to the Netherlands or not.

All information provided is meant for the Netherlands, northwestern Europe. Habitats in other locations may be very different and the information provided here might not be useful for locations outside of northwestern Europe.
